'A Passion for Sharing Discoveries'My passion for leading domestic & international wildlife expeditions increases every year as each trip becomes more interesting than the one before. Realizing a vision to provide first rate Wildlife Photography, Natural History, & Wilderness Expeditions has been a labor of love and determination. Every step of the way has been worth it in the pursuit of living connected with the complex ecosystems of the natural world. After graduating with a biology degree in ecology from a small liberal arts school in New England in the eighties, I focused my attention on domestic and international photojournalism, based out of Boston. While working as a staff photojournalist and photography editor, I won awards for my documentary work from professional press organizations. However, my off-time was always spent traveling to the tropics, leading trips, and exploring new off-the-beaten path locales - only to return the next year with a new group. Put simply, I have always had a passion for sharing these finds with my clients. To me this is the heart and soul of good guiding - a passion for sharing discoveries. It is not about mass produced tours, it is about bringing clients out there in the field, face to face with the wildlife of the far-flung regions of the world. I hope you will agree as many former clients have. In my teens, twenties, and thirties, I spent a great deal of time researching and photographing birds and wildlife along the Mexican border. I will never forget reporting back to my fellow birders my excitement at having seen and photographed the extremely rare Northern Beardless Tyrannulet and the then nearly-extinct Whooping Cranes in southern Texas. My excitement for finding, identifying, and sharing with clients unique, sometimes exotic, and always interesting wildlife has not changed since then, more than two decades ago. That passion continues today as my explorations grow along with my list of satisfied clients. I strive to offer clients a trip designed around their goals and desires and to value time on the trip as a 'once in a lifetime' experience, even if it is not the only time they will travel with me or on their own. I now combine my successful photography experiences with a sense of adventure and attention to detail to create unique trips for the discriminating adventurous traveler.
